Nomes e Voces receives the award Crítica de Galicia (research in the social sciences and humanities, 2024)
The NeV project, after almost twenty years since its beginnings, has just received such a prestigious award for its trajectory. The jury highlighted, among other achievements, the valuable collection of information on the victims of the coup, the war and the dictatorship.
Last Saturday, the entire team and collaborators of the interuniversity project Nomes y Voces were recognised for their work in the study of the violence of the coup during the war and post-war period, as well as in offering society data on the people who suffered some kind of persecution during this period. This task was approached from the perspective of historical research, as part of society's growing interest in the study of Francoist violence and its consequences. This collective and interdisciplinary effort, in which the three Galician public universities participated, as well as numerous groups and individuals, was one of the issues highlighted by the jury.
